Tortured for Christ
Pastor Peter, age 52, was born a Muslim but converted to
Christianity in February 1996. As soon as his Muslim family came to know
about his conversion to Christianity, they tortured him physically for
more than a year. John left home and kept moving from one city to
another for security reasons. In 2006, John married a Christian woman
and had his own family in Karachi. However, Pastor Peter and his family
were forced to flee to Lahore in July 2014, after receiving continues death threats from local Islamic extremists.
In December, ICC provided Pastor Peter and his family with a vital support package that assisted them to get through this extremely difficult time. The family was provided a month’s worth of food aid and some winter clothing to help them deal with the cold weather. ICC will continue to assist Pastor Peter and his family in 2015.
